I’m commenting to put a general opinion out there to all of the Daily Southtown Speak Out readers, and this is what I have to say. As an impassioned person who loves this country and the democratic way, I would like to ask every Republican voter out there why they’re Republicans. What do their candidates stand for, and what have those candidates ever done for them to make them Republican voters? I challenge any Republican reader of this newspaper to actually say more than one or two things that any of their candidates have ever done in regards to their constituents.

Tinley Park residents are crying about their need for business, but now they’re objecting to disc golf. What’s their gripe about this? Exactly what do they want?

Big thanks to our Illinois farmers and all the farmers markets and farm stands, my personal favorite being on Ridgeland Ave and just south of Vollmer Road.

Though village officials and staff will try to convince us otherwise, TIFs are nothing more than credit cards with unimaginably high limits. If they don’t work as planned or are poorly managed, taxpayers will be left holding the bag for tens of millions of dollars. How long do our governments think they can continue to spend and gamble money they don’t have before the house of cards simply collapses?

Warning: If you have a job that can be done by machines or robots, you most likely will be out of a job in 10 years or less. Even white collar jobs such as financial advisers and insurance salesmen, among others, will be replaced by talking robots. Get some training now for a job that can’t be done by a machine. Machines are putting thousands of hard working Americans out of work every day. Be prepared.
Just saying, when Trump is losing things are rigged. When he is winning, they aren’t.
Concerning Lyndon Johnson and his “Great Society,” let’s call it what it really was: Political racketeering. “I give you free stuff, you vote for me.”
Whatever happened to Rham Emanuel? Is he still our mayor? What about our big-mouth aldermen? July stats are in — 65 dead, 441 shootings. Not a word from any of them. Ignorance at its best.

I just love this headline in your paper, “Clinton aims to drive wedge between Trump, working class.” Well yeah, Ms. Clinton needs the working class. Who else is going to pay for all the freebies she is promising.

With all of the bad news being reported in July it seems as though the press somehow forgot to report the very good news. It was reported by banking firm Goldman Sachs that 100,000 oil and gas industry jobs could be returning. After selling of cheap oil, America is now getting back on track. It will take from 80,000 to 100,000 workers to fill these positions between now and the end of 2018. With so much going on in July I just felt this was worth reporting.

For many years, taxpayers have taken cuts in benefits and wages to keep their jobs afloat. So why are these same taxpayers expected to keep subsidizing the lucrative perks for the worst school system in America?

If Trump loses, we can put at least 90 percent of the blame on Jeb, Cruz and Kasich. They all swore allegiance to whomever the GOP nominated. If that happens, I hope they go to hell and lose any future political aspirations they might have because they thought of their own hurt feelings rather than the future of our country.
