When everybody said Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton was looking for a running mate, I figured she would probably select President Barack Obama as her vice president. That way, he’d have four more years to complete his legacy. What a wonderful country this is.

I understand the commenter’s opinion about former Gov. Rod Blagojevich, wanting him to do his full 14 years in jail for federal corruption, but always remember this: In Illinois, the only reason Blagojevich got sentenced to 14 years is because he went against House Speaker Michael Madigan and, at that time, Gov. Pat Quinn on his radio show. If Blagojevich would have just kept his mouth shut and not picked on the boss, Big Mike, he probably would have just gotten a slap on the wrist. Remember that Michael Madigan sold a spot, too, but he said — and these are Michael Madigan’s words — “Yes, it was not illegal, but it was unethical.” He never even got indicted. Welcome to Illinois.

There was a time when the campaign slogans were, “A chicken in every pot.” Now the Republican slogan is, “A gun in everybody’s pocket.”
China is being arrogant and threatening with regards to their homemade island in the South China Sea, claiming the whole area as theirs. If American manufacturing moved back to America, China won’t have any money and they’ll have to change their attitude.

Brace yourself America this upcoming election promises to have voting irregularities unlike anyone has ever seen before. Here in Chicago, the people in the cemeteries are already lining up to register for their right to vote.

To Bill from Chicago Heights. Thank you for your service and thank you for walking around the Heights with a loaded gun in your pocket, protecting people from evil-doers. If you do not understand how our legislative process works, that the NRA gives millions of money every year to congressmen and women for their reelection and their pro-NRA votes, you should not be writing to Speak Out. You do everyone a disservice. This is basic high school civics. And the Illinois State Police do not make the gun laws, they just enforce them.
I’ve read that the Village of Tinley Park has paid $129,000 in legal feels for the Buckeye situation. How much has Tinley Park paid in legal fees for the numerous lawsuits flied by a local lawyer? Most of these are being dismissed, but not until after village attorneys had to deal with them in court, which is expensive.
Imagine if Disney World did not have a border wall/fence around it’s grounds, and it was open to anyone willing to walk in. Would not the place turn into a mess very shortly? What is the difference with our country’s open border?

For more than a year, I predicted that Donald Trump was more about the drama and attention than actually wanting to be president. My prediction now is that Donald Trump, after soaking up more attention and closer to the election, will have an outrageous conflict in general and announce that he is withdrawing his candidacy. At this point, Paul Ryan, who has been a huge critic of Donald Trump, yet retains respect from the Republican Party, will step in and become an active candidate. If this is the outcome, I will become a fortune teller.
