A 24-year-old Aurora man faces multiple gun and drug charges after police served a search warrant at his apartment in the city’s West Side.
Marquette Deshaun Joyner is charged with manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance; manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance between 1 and 15 grams; possession of a controlled substance; unlawful possession or use of a weapon or ammunition by a felon; and having a gun without a FOID card in connection to the warrant served Friday at his apartment in the 400 block of Garfield Avenue, according to police reports.
At Joyner’s apartment, police found an unspecified amount of cocaine, a loaded handgun and ammunition, said Lt. Jeff Wiencek.
Further information about the warrant was not available Monday.
Joyner is in Kane County Jail, with total bail for all charges set at $114,250, according to the jail’s website.
In 2008, Joyner pleaded guilty to possession of an air gun within Aurora city limits, an ordinance violation, and was given a sentence of supervision, according to Kane County records.
In 2010, he was convicted of attempted burglary and sentenced to 28 days in county jail plus 18 months probation, Kane County records show.
