Four-star defensive end recruit Donovan Jeter became the fourth player from Pennsylvania to join Notre Dame’s Class of 2017, orally committing Monday to play for the Irish.

“This was not an easy decision but I’m doing what’s best for me,” Jeter wrote in a message posted on Twitter. “With that being said, after many months of going through this process, I’ll be furthering my education and football career at the University of Notre Dame.”

The 6-foot-5, 250-pound Jeter is from Beaver Falls, Pa. Alabama, Ohio State, Pittsburgh, Penn State and Tennessee were among the other schools on Jeter’s radar.

Jeter is the 18th member of Notre Dame’s 2017 class, which ranks sixth in the 247Sports.com composite rankings.
