Four robberies have been reported near the 79th Street Red Line station in the last few weeks, according to police.

The first was on August 29 about noon. A second was reported a couple days later on Sept. 1 in the 7800 block of South State Street about 9:40 p.m.

Two more were reported on Sept. 14. One happened in the 7800 block of South Calumet Avenue about 2:30 p.m. and another in the 100 block of West 79th Street about 11 p.m.

In all four incidents, police said one or two black men robbed people at gun point. One of the men is between 35 and 45 years old and sometimes he has a younger man, in his early 20s, with him.

The older man is is taller, about 5-foot-11 to 6-foot-1 and about 200 pounds. The older man has dreadlocks and the younger man has short hair. Police said the older man was present at all four robberies.

The younger man is about 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-7 with short hair and medium complexion, weighing between 140 and 140 pounds, according to police.

In the second incident, the younger man was wearing jeans with sparkling pockets, according to police.
