I would like to thank you for the positive articles on the hospital honoring rehab patients, women, wildlife protection and all the other fine articles you publish about the young people of our community. We do not need a front-page article about a teenager who says, “America sucks.”

Is it reasonable to conclude that our president might have at least some culpability in crimes committed against law-enforcement officers. Recent cases of criminals exercising their form of “street justice” directly against police can, at the minimum, be traced back to commentary by our president with regard to his warped perception of police brutality. His comments, it seems, have emboldened many to take a highly aggressive stand against the police. The aftermath of his rhetoric is injured and dead officers, with no end to our president’s “home-grown” anarchy in sight. Great legacy, Mr. President.

Voting for Donald Trump is like buying penny stocks. When the stock is first introduced, it is offered at a very low price, and then rapidly goes up. Of course you want to ride this out and buy more. After all, this is an opportunity to be rich, maybe even a millionaire. Then it happens. It goes down, just a little. Then, boom, it tanks. I think what I will do is take my money out of the market, just in case Donald Trump wins, and then when the market goes way down, due to all the global turmoil, I will buy back in. Who knows, maybe I will be rich. Thanks to Donald Trump.

Watched “60 Minutes” cover our nuclear preparedness. The piece included video within a nuclear submarine. Also, the Strategic Command center was covered. It might be me, but I don’t feel any information should be provided to our enemies, regardless of it being considered “benign enough” to be shown on a prime time TV show. That’s just me though.

Donald Trump’s campaign has become a true reality show. Drama, entertainment, misleading and ambiguous remarks. The campaign glamorizes crudeness. It has made a star out of someone who is unsuited to be president. What has our country become in supporting such an offensive candidate.

As a long-time resident of the city of Burbank, I can’t help but notice two things: An influx of people from Chicago and a dramatic increase in both police and fire sirens.

To Janet from Chicago: I know you women out there want a woman for president, but I’m sure you could do better than Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton. She’s a disgrace to this country, and any woman that votes for her, or anybody who votes for her, is a disgrace to this country.

It was a simple red, white and blue, campaign-like sign in a front lawn that said it all: “Worry.”

It shouldn’t be difficult to figure out where Mrs. Clinton and Mr. Trump stand on right-to-work and prevailing wage legislation/laws. Right-to-work laws are usually seen as anti-union and are usually sought by Republicans. Prevailing wage legislation is seen as “pro-labor” and pushed by Democrats. Simple. If one wants more info, check out the candidates’ web sites for their stances on all sorts of issues.
