Police are looking for a man who robbed a Park Ridge convenience store Wednesday morning.

According to police, the man entered the 7-Eleven store at 976 N. Northwest Highway around 6:40 a.m., implied he had a gun and demanded money from the register.

An employee handed the man an undetermined around of cash, and the robber fled the store, heading south down Rowe Avenue on foot, police said.

The suspect is described as a white man, 20 to 30 years old, clean shaven, and wearing a gray stocking cap, black hooded sweatshirt, gray athletic pants and black shoes. Police said he was also carrying a gray bag described as a satchel.

Deputy Police Chief Lou Jogmen said detectives were working to retrieve video surveillance footage to help in the investigation.

Anyone with information on the robbery is asked to contact the Park Ridge Police Department at 847-318-5252.

The same 7-Eleven store was robbed in December 2014, December 2012 and January 2010, police said.

The last commercial armed robbery reported in Park Ridge occurred in May at the Dunkin Donuts at 2606 Dempster St., Jogmen said.
