Becky Murray is a 35-year resident of Winnetka who has two children and three grandchildren. She spends a significant amount of time in Colorado, where skiing and watching the leaves change colors are some of her favorite fall and winter activities.
Q: What do you enjoy about the fall?
A: I love the colors. One of my favorite things to do is go to the Botanic Garden and walk through there. It’s also a great time to play golf because it is cool.
Q: Do you ever get sad in the fall knowing that winter is now on its way?
A: I don’t, because I really love snow. That is one of the reasons I go to Colorado.
Q: What do you like about skiing?
A: I love being on the mountains; that is fun. I like being able to make pretty turns. I ski for a while and then go for lunch.
Q: Is there something distinctive that you will be doing this fall?
A: We just came back from a fall trip to some of the national parks in Utah.
Q: Why did you decide to go there?
A: I had always wanted to see the national parks and this is the 100th anniversary of the national parks. Mostly we wanted to see Bryce Canyon, which was spectacular. It is absolutely beautiful. Also (we liked) the foliage in Colorado, as the aspen trees turn this incredibly vivid golden yellow.
