When I learned how to drive many years ago, there were no turn signal levels in our cars. We had to stick out our hands, no matter what the weather, to indicate our turn. Today, we have levels to use to indicate what way we are turning, but I guess many of us are too lazy to use our turn signals, especially when we are changing lanes. Whether you know it or not, it is a law to indicate which way you are turning.

Just wanted to say how disgusted I was reading Frank and Alicia’s report on Trump’s Bolingbrook fundraiser. Again, one sided. I’m sure Hillary’s event will be all rosy and you will only interview her supporters, and maybe quote one person who is not for her. Quite sick you call yourselves reporters. It’s just so disgusting that the Democrats have you in their pockets too. I thought I’d at least get good news reporting, but I guess I was wrong. Time to cancel my subscription, and seriously think about moving to Canada.

How many parents out there can honestly say that they don’t have a problem with a member of the opposite sex using the same bathroom or locker room or shower with their child at school or anywhere else? What about the privacy rights of those being affected? And here I thought “political correctness” couldn’t get any more absurd.

I truly fear for the future of Tinley Park. Village leadership is floundering with no plan or direction. After endless hours and countless dollars, no one seems sure what to do or how to do it. I’m beginning to wonder if they even want to do anything. How many more consultants can we hire, and things can they talk about, for how long before we begin to see any significant change for the better? We’re teetering on the edge.

To Prudence from Hometown: I don’t think Trump and Trump supporters are against immigration. They are opposed to illegal immigration. Our ancestors from Europe and Asia entered the country legally. They had sponsors and were checked at entry points. Today, people are pouring into the country illegally without visas, without vetting, without background checks. This should be stopped.

Choosing the right candidate for the U.S. Senate seat in Illinois is tough. Can you imagine having to decide which one of your feet to shoot. You know its going to hurt, but which one is the better choice?

When you have a lying criminal — and I mean criminal — out of Arkansas like Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton, and a braggadocios buffoon like Republican nominee Donald Trump, who’s never been in a fight in his life, running for president the only choice is Jill Stein. Jill Stein for president. Believe me, the Green Party presidential nominee’s got my vote.

Mike, Crestwood

It was the most ridiculous thing I saw, with Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump in that church in Detroit. He looked so phony. What a phony he is. I don’t want this man, because he just lies. He changes his mind. He says something and thinks he can just change his mind and take it all back. We don’t need this in a president. We need a decisive person. Another thing is I think he’s getting tired. Just look. He’s not even doing his comb-overs anymore. He’s just keeping a hat on his head. He’s getting lazy. Do we want this for a president?

It is just so childish and stupid with all these newscasters on television, that when one is talking the other one’s got to turn and look in their ear. Maybe they’re checking for earwax. It’s so childish. They need to grow up. Also, they’re stupid saying there’s a cold front. The temperature going down from 85 degrees to 80 is still hot. Get rid of the term “cold front.” When it drops to 40 degrees, that’s a cold front. Grow up.

Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin have had business dealings several times but are not buddies. Remember that it was the Clintons who helped Putin with the uranium deal. Also, Trump only said if Russia had hacked Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton’s emails that they should release the 35,000 that she erased even after she was told she must surrender all her emails. Please get your facts straight.

I’ve recently had two occasions where cars coming at me crossed over the dividing line. I don’t know if they were talking on their phone, had too much to drink or what. I was busy trying to get out of their way on Bell Road, which has a five-foot-deep ditch on both sides. People evidently don’t know the law that, when it’s dark or raining, you’re supposed to turn on your headlights. If you have a gray car and are driving through a forested area, you’re invisible. I’d always have my headlights on. You don’t know what you’re doing if you’re texting. Evidently many people haven’t heard about the law canceling that. There’s lots happening because people aren’t paying attention.

I don’t know about you people out there, but my grandson needs a job and I’m voting for Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump because I believe Trump will bring jobs to this country. All Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton’s going to do it tax the heck out of us. So, my advice to you people out there that want a first woman for president is you need to do a lot better than Hillary Clinton. There’s a lot better women out there than Hillary Clinton. Former Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin’s one of them. Good luck.

Illinois is lost. The Department of Human Services is attempting to collect a $242 overpayment made from its Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program for a 30-year-old account when they should be vetting and auditing current recipients for acceptability to the program. Stop the bleeding.
