Can someone please tell me why so many people feel that it’s OK to not use turn signals? Is it that hard to pull the lever up or down? It’s the law, and can get you a ticket. It is also nice to know which way you are going when it’s not obvious. I’m also seeing more people driving at night without their headlights on. They are almost invisible even on a well-lit street. You are not using any more gas by using turn signals or headlights.

Why doesn’t someone say the real reason for the problems at the Oak Lawn Chuck E. Cheese begin and end with those who patronize the restaurant? The latest “security” problem began with a woman spitting into another woman’s face, and then that woman’s boyfriend head-butting the first woman. What kind of people think this is normal behavior? It seems to me that a restriction on the number of adults attending children’s parties would do more to make it a safe environment for children than all of the enhanced lighting and increased security personnel combined.

If all the junk exposed about Hillary Clinton doesn’t cause pro-Hillary voters to reconsider, there is virtually nothing nefarious that she can do that would sway these “tunnel vision” voters. That would be a sad statement concerning the lack of virtue on behalf of a segment of the American public.

I, for one, will not watch any of these games. I am amazed that these fans who stood behind this team for over a 100 years of mediocrity are now being financial raped at every opportunity. Even more sadly, they are standing in line wanting it to happen. To all of you loyal fans, you are finally getting what you deserve.

Take it from sellers who have learned the hard way. When you’re selling a home, agree to pay compensation to the agents on the net, not the gross, sale price. After an agent chisels away at what you think you’re selling for, with closing credits and other costs potentially racked up by the buyer, you’ll cringe at your final payout. The only ones who will walk away smiling are the Realtors.
The resulting presentation of Tinley Park’s “branding” $85,000 consultant was interesting. It showed a pathetic, lack of cohesive marketing expertise by the village and its previous mayor and board of elected officials. In addition to trustees being voted out of office next April, the entire village marketing department needs a complete overhaul starting with firing and replacing the leaders of that department.
Give taxpayers the credit they deserve. They know exactly what’s going on here. Yes, Mayor Daniel McLaughlin and your trustees have done a fabulous job building Orland Park into what it is today. But isn’t that what they were elected to do and staff was hired to do? Your mayor may have saved the village a bundle in salaries, but awarding him a huge salary bump now will inflate his pension and cost every taxpayer in the state for years to come. If you wanted to thank him, you should have done it post retirement with your checkbook, not ours. Who’s taking bets he will be retiring in four years?
