Elgin police were called to a house in the 1800 block of Monday Drive in Elgin at 6:36 p.m. Wednesday for a report of a person who had been shot, Elgin police said.
According to police, officers took the person who had been shot to the hospital for treatment.
Detectives are investigating the shooting, police said.
