Ocean uses distorting devices on his voice to add emotional texture and to enhance and sharpen the characters he briefly embodies. AP"Love & Hate" shows Kiwanuka breaking out of that stylistic box. His core remains intact: a grainy, world-weary voice contemplating troubled times in intimate musical settings. The album announces its more ambitious intentions from the outset, with the trembling strings, episodic piano chords and wordless vocals of the 10-minute "Cold Little Heart." AP"Peace Trail" — Neil Young's second album this year and sixth since 2014 — is occasionally fascinating. Gabrielle Union remembered the first time she met Heath Ledger while working together on “10 Things I Hate About You,” on “Watch What Happens Live” Thursday.
“The first time I met him, he had done a movie in Australia and no one had ever really heard of him, but he was just this mysterious 19-year-old,” Union said. “He told me and everyone else who was over 21 to meet him at the top of the hotel at this bar. And we walk in, and he’s just got this wild hair. Again, he’s 19, but he’s got this dad drink.”
The actress said that Ledger “was such a man, such a gentleman… and his girlfriend at the time was like 38,” adding, “He was a great, warm, funny… We had a lot of fun.”

She reminisced that the experience of making “10 Things” was particularly special. “I thought all movies were like that. We literally ate dinner together every night. That whole cast was a dream, but he was a doll baby.”
Host Andy Cohen quipped, “I’m so glad I got to ask you that question because I just realized Bravo plays that movie like once a day.”
“10 Things I Hate About You” was released in March of 1999. Union’s film “Almost Christmas” hits theaters Nov 11. She is also starring in “Being Mary Jane” and recently wrapped a press tour for “The Birth of a Nation.”
