The following items were taken from Arlington Heights Police Department reports and press releases. An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt.
Theft
*A wallet containing cash, checks, gift cards, and various credit cards was reported stolen from an open purse hung over the back of a chair at Cooper’s Hawk, 798 W. Algonquin Road, between 6:15 p.m. and 7:15 p.m. Nov. 14.
*A black Charming Charlie wallet containing a driver’s license, a Social Security card, credit cards, and two lottery tickets was reported stolen from an unattended purse at 85 W. Algonquin Road between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Nov. 15.
*A black leather Coach wallet containing a driver’s license and credit cards was reported stolen from an unattended purse at 2340 S Arlington Heights Road between 9:15 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Nov. 15. The credit cards were used by unknown offender at locations outside of Arlington Heights.
*A man forcibly took a black leather Juicy Couture purse from a woman on Nov. 16 between 6:40 p.m. and 7 p.m. at 637 E. Golf Road. The purse contained cash, various credit cards, a driver’s license, and office and car keys. The offender is described as a male, approximately 40 years old, 6-foot-1, 220 pounds with brownish short hair, with a strong body odor who smelled of cigarette smoke, and was last seen wearing a brown jacket and khaki pants, according to a report.
*A 2014 white Ford van was broken into while it was parked overnight in the 1700 block of East Northwest Highway, and miscellaneous electrical tools, an electric test meter, and a barcode scanner with a combined value of $1,000 were taken.
*Scrap metal was reported stolen from the storage bins behind Toyoda, 316 W. University Ave., at 4:03 p.m. Nov. 14.
*Several prescription pads were reported stolen Nov. 14 from an office in the 3400 block of North Kennicott Avenue.
*Several items with a combined value of $657 were reported stolen Nov. 10 at 1:44 p.m. from Target, 1700 E. Rand Road. Police have a description of the offender.
*Jewelry, a necklace and two rings of unknown value were reported stolen Nov. 11 from the personal belongings of a patient at Northwest Community Hospital, 800 W. Central Road.
Fraud
*A customer at Lowe’s, 990 W. Algonquin Road, brought an item to the customer service counter and initiated a fraudulent return of $159 at 11:15 a.m. Nov. 15.
Property damage
*The rear window of a 2014 black Dodge Caravan was reported damaged Nov. 14 after being parked in the 1000 block of West Brittany Court. The cost to repair the damage is unknown.
