I’m tired of governors who can’t follow simple rules. The Illinois Constitution says the governor must submit a balanced budget. Bruce Rauner has never submitted a balanced budget. Rauner is violating Illinois law. Restore law and order in the governor’s mansion. Either Rauner submits a balanced budget or he should face impeachment hearings.

It seems that we all pretty much agree that Illinois is on its knees due to the continued budget impasse and a debt load that becomes more and more staggering with each passing week. I think that we can also pretty much agree that Mike Madigan with his unquenchable thirst for power is responsible. In his Dec. 23 column, the always-excellent Austin Berg reported that members of the House will vote for speaker on Jan. 11. Remember: Madigan stays in power because the people we keep voting for support him.

Since 2008, are you better off now than you were then? Has the government helped you or hurt you? Were you able to take advantage of programs and resources, or were you saddled with more taxes, more regulations, more problems? Have things gotten easier for you, or harder for you?

About 38,000 Illinois residents and countless businesses have left the state already this year. That’s 38,000 people/businesses who are no longer paying taxes that will eventually put the burden on the rest of us who can’t leave. I truly wish people in this state would wake up and start complaining to their state representative/senator that business as usual (Mike Madigan/John Cullerton) is ruining this great state. These two have no vision and don’t care to for that matter, on operating with a balanced budget. They have been in office a combined 60 years, yet the only thing they have done is tax residents/ businesses out of our state. Wake up people. There’s no reason our taxes need to be the highest in the nation. Start voting for change.

So, President Barack Obama thinks that had he been able to run for a third term, he’d have won? This guy is completely delusional, just like the rest of the Democratic Party. I’m not sure what part of change they don’t get. But if my memory is correct, Hillary Clinton ran on his agenda and lost. People are tired of no jobs, expensive health care, and his absurd vision for our country. My suggestion to him would be to stop self-campaigning and ride out his last few days with some class like all the past presidents before him. After all, that’s what President George Bush did for him.
