Regular season
Sept. 11: Texans 24, Bears 13
The Bears managed only 71 total yards of offense on their seven possessions after halftime and didn’t cross midfield in the second half, left to swallow a frustrating season-opening defeat.
Sept. 19: Eagles 29, Bears 14
The Bears collapsed in the third quarter under the weight of miscues and injuries, losing 29-14 to the Eagles on Monday Night Football at Soldier Field.
Sept. 25: Cowboys 31, Bears 17
The Bears finished September with a 31-17 loss Sunday night at AT&T Stadium, steamrolled for the second time in seven nights in front of a prime-time audience.
Oct. 2: Bears 17, Lions 14
The Bears finally put together a relatively complete performance to win for the first time this season and end a six-game home losing streak.
Oct. 9: Colts 29, Bears 23
The Bears dropped to 1-4, unable to complete a late rally in a 29-23 loss to the Colts at Lucas Oil Stadium. The Bears’ last-chance attempt failed when quarterback Brian Hoyer misfired on a deep ball to Cameron Meredith on fourth-and-8 from the Colts 28 yard line with 57 seconds to play.
Oct. 16: Jaguars 17, Bears 16
The Bears led 13-0 in the fourth quarter, but were unable to keep the Jaguars from rallying for a victory at Soldier Field.
Oct. 20: Packers 26, Bears 10
Bears quarterback Brian Hoyer was knocked out in the second quarter Thursday night against the Green Bay Packers with a left arm injury.
Oct. 31: Bears 20, Vikings 10
The Bears defense came through with a dominating performance against the Vikings, making Cutler’s return from a five-game absence a successful one.
Nov. 13: Buccaneers 36, Bears 10
Coming out of a week off and facing a shaky Buccaneers team that had been winless at home, the Bears imploded. For those brave enough to watch the whole ugly, dizzying disaster, this was evidence of a bad team offering its most miserable performance all season.
Nov. 20: Giants 22, Bears 16
Hushed tones, somber faces and a couple of walking boots symbolized a team that was beaten down and beaten up in a 22-16 loss to the Giants. The Bears blew a 10-point first-half lead and lost four more starters to injury, a dispiriting combination that promises to test their resilience.
Nov. 27: Titans 27, Bears 21
The Bears lost 27-21, completing a winless November that was filled with injuries, suspensions and maddening on-field mistakes. They are 2-9 and heading into December with little to be hopeful about.
Dec. 4: Bears 26, 49ers 6
With his head down and legs churning, Jordan Howard punctuated the Bears’ third victory of the season with his third touchdown of the game. His 5-yard rumble epitomized a dominant, power-packed 26-6 win over the hapless 49ers at Soldier Field.
Dec. 11: Lions 20, Bears 17
The Bears’ 10th loss of the season finished 20-17. When it mattered most, the Bears weren’t sharp enough, again reminded of what separates last-place teams from those in first.
Dec. 18: Packers 30, Bears 27
Aaron Rodgers strolled onto the field, raised both arms, then emphatically pumped his fist. It was part elation, part relief after the Packers made a 32-yard field goal as time expired to escape the Bears’ furious rally and win 30-27 Sunday at Soldier Field.
Dec. 24: Redskins 41, Bears 21
In an abysmal performance befitting a woeful season, the Bears were outclassed and outperformed by the visiting Redskins. And so the parting gift for the home crowd on Christmas Eve was a 41-21 loss.
Jan. 1: Vikings 38, Bears 10
The Bears’ final impotent performance of this awful season was a 38-10 beatdown by the Vikings that dropped them to 3-13. It’s the worst 16-game record and second-worst single-season winning percentage in franchise history after the 1-13 1969 team.
Preseason
Aug. 11: Broncos 22, Bears 0
The Bears’ 22-0 exhibition loss to the Broncos at Soldier Field was the first time the team has been shut out in exhibition action since Aug. 15, 1981, when they lost 13-0 at Kansas City. Quarterback Jay Cutler and the starters got three series but produced only 13 yards in 10 plays.
Aug. 18: Patriots 23, Bears 22
The Bears’ first-string offense scored 11 points on three possessions in a 23-22 exhibition loss to the New England Patriots. Jeremy Langford sparked the running game with his vision and effective feet, while quarterback Jay Cutler re-established his connection with receiver Alshon Jeffery.
Aug. 27: Chiefs 23, Bears 7
The Bears were throttled on both sides of the ball during a 23-7 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs at Soldier Field. Late in the game, fourth-string quarterback Connor Shaw threw a touchdown pass to get the Bears on the scoreboard before he was carted off the field with a broken leg.
Sept. 1: Bears 21, Browns 7
The Bears got into the win column with a 21-7 exhibition finale victory over the Browns. Receiver Kevin White totaled four catches for 57 yards, including a 26-yard big gainer from Brian Hoyer over the middle. Rookie Leonard Floyd was also active during his time on the field.
