Chicago shootings in the first weeks of 2017 show there is no slowing from the carnage of 2016. Given this, President Donald Trump has issued an ultimatum to the city and its mayor, Rahm Emanuel, to shape up or the federal government will take action. Perhaps it’s time the city took the lifeline and ended the bloodbath that is soaking our city in the worse kind of hopeless despair.
