Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

1. Change the location. Try eating in the kitchen or the living room instead of sitting alone in the dining room.

2. Eat at a different time. Switch your meal time to start a new routine.

3. Incorporate your meal with tasks. Read the paper, do a crossword puzzle or watch television while you eat.

4. Add some background noise when cooking. Put on the radio or television or call a friend while you’re preparing a meal instead of working in silence.

5. Slow it down. Just because you are eating alone, don’t gobble up your meal. Savor the flavors, relax and enjoy your meal.

6. Cook something your loved one loved and recall enjoying the meal together by writing the memory in a journal.
