TimeLine Theatre Company announced its 2017-18 season Thursday, including the Chicago premiere of the play that inspired Peter Morgan’s hit Netflix series “The Crown.”

Associate artistic director Nick Bowling will direct “The Audience” (Aug. 24-Nov. 12), Morgan’s play spanning decades of Queen Elizabeth II’s many meetings with England’s prime ministers. Janet Ulrich Brooks will star.

Next up is “In the Next Room, Or the Vibrator Play” (Oct. 26-Dec. 17) by Sarah Ruhl. Mechelle Moe will direct the Pulitzer Prize finalist about women in search of connection, electric or otherwise.

Then comes Anna Ziegler’s “Boy” (Jan. 18-March 18). Damon Kiely will direct the inspired-by-true-events story that follows the repercussions of gender identities decided at birth.

Closing out the season is “To Catch a Fish” (May 3-July 1), a world premiere from Brett Neveu about the pitfalls of the pursuit of justice in a low-income Milwaukee neighborhood. Ron OJ Parson will direct.

Productions will take place at TimeLine Theatre, 615 W. Wellington Ave., except for “In the Next Room, Or the Vibrator Play” at Stage 773, 1225 W. Belmont Ave.
