United Christian Church: 4351 W. 180th St. — A free Lenten program by retired North Park University professor Gregory Athnos will be at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. March 18. St. Andrew United Methodist Church: 18550 Riegel Road — A living portrayal of Leonardo da Vinci’s “The Last Supper” will be held at 7:30 p.m. April 13. Cast members are from St. Andrew United Methodist of Homewood and St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church of Glenwood and combined choirs will sing. The portrayal will conclude with Communion. First Presbyterian Church: 17929 Gottschalk Ave. — The Women’s Association will host a potluck luncheon and a program by Paul Leschuch from the Izaac Walton League in Westminster Hall at 12:30 p.m. March 16. Bring a dish to share. Everyone is invited. A cookie sale will be held in Westminster Hall following worship on March 19. Chris Dederer will perform a free organ concert, music by Johann Sebastian Bach, in the sanctuary at 4 p.m. March 19 to commemorate the 500th anniversary of the Reformation. Donations will be accepted to support the Community Dinners ministry. A dessert reception will follow the concert. The Chancel Choir of First Presbyterian Church of Homewood and the Festival Choir of Zion Lutheran Church of Tinley Park will present an Easter Cantata, “Hope in the Shadows,” during the 10:30 a.m. service April 2. Raynor Ave. — Sopranos Michelle Gliottoni Rodriguez and Lauren Rupert and pianist James Grzadzinski will perform Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater and other Lenten music by Sergei Rachmaninoff and Gwyneth Walker at 3 p.m. March 12. This program is part of the Cathedral Music Series and includes musical reflection on the meaning of the Stations of the Cross, the journey of Jesus through his Passion, Death and Resurrection. Redeemer’s Lutheran Church: 4955 W. 158th St. — Free raised garden beds are offered to Link card holders and veterans and are available to everyone else for a $50 seasonal donation. The beds are 18 inches tall, organic and ADA-compliant and would make a good project for schools, day cares, senior homes or scout troops. Orland Park Christian Reformed Church: 7500 W. Sycamore Drive — The Palm Sunday Choral Cantata, “Remember: Where the Past Ends and Forever Begins,” will be at 6 p.m. April 9.
Presbyterian Church: 13401 S. Wolf Road — The Mothers of Preschoolers group will meet from 9 to 11 a.m. on the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month. Child care is provided for children from infants to 5 years old. New moms are welcome. Winter session is underway through March 28. The Welcome on Wednesdays Arts for Kids and Little W.O.W. will be Wednesdays through March 15. W.O.W is for first through eighth grades from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Little W.O.W. will be for ages 4 and 5 from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Supper is included for both programs.
