Season stats: The Blackhawks’ senior was the area’s top performer at this year’s state meet, finishing ninth at The Cherry Bowl in Rockford with a 2,534 total, 135 pins behind the individual state champion.

Season stats: After coming up one win short of qualifying for state for the past two years, Kroening (37-3) had an excellent showing this season. He advanced to the 195-pound title match of the Class 3A state meet at the University of Illinois before dropping a 12-4 decision to earn the second-place medal.

Season stats: Johnson defeated Bishop McNamara’s Pauley Keane 3-0 at 106 pounds to win the Class 1A state title. The first state champion for the first-year program at Aurora Christian, Johnson (35-0) completed a perfect season with the decision.
