Orland Park’s Assistant Village Manager Joe LaMargo doesn’t understand why using a Blue Lives Matter flag on the village sticker is making a political statement even after it has been pointed out to him. He is happy to change the flag to an American flag when some veterans suggest it, but wouldn’t change it when residents complain about having a political symbol on their cars. Blue Lives Matters down plays Black Lives Matters. Can’t Joe see how this symbol can be offensive to people of color? We’re not anti-police. We just don’t want to be forced to place political messages on our cars. Why doesn’t Joe get this? It’s really pretty simple.

I read in the Daily Southtown that Police Supt. Eddie Johnson is really going to get tough on “repeat” gun offenders with tougher sentences. However, the story continued by saying there could [and probably would] be lesser penalties because of mitigating circumstances against first time offenders. That’s what I call “really being tough.” I suppose when caught with an illegal gun, these first-timers will say that they were just on their way to grandma’s house to protect her from all those big, bad gang-bangers? Yes sir, Mr. Superintendent, that’ll work.

President Donald Trump said save Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security on the campaign trail — one of his many lies. Trumpcare contains big cuts to Medicaid. Rep. Paul Ryan bragged out these big cuts to Medicaid on a conservative radio show. He went on to say he is so excited about these cuts — an example of “de-federalizing entitlements.” The host asked about the Congressional Budget’s Office report that says 15 million people will lose insurance under his plan. Ryan’s response was, “you are never going to win a coverage beauty contest.” Wow. We see how he feels about what he calls “entitlements.” What’s next? Medicare? Can we take away his entitlement health insurance package that we pay for?

Nancy Pelosi recently pontificated about the wrongs of the new administration’s replacement of Obamacare. This is from a woman who was clueless to the oppressive details of Obamacare until she and we all found out after it passed.
