While in Scoville Park on March 5, Oak Park resident Gregory Renfro, 47, stopped to answer a few questions for the Oak Leaves.
Q: Occupation?
A: I’m an auditor.
Q: How long have you lived in Oak Park and what’s kept you here?
A: Ten years. It’s peaceful, there’s a lot to see, a lot to do, all year round.
Q: Favorite local restaurant?
A: New Pot is my favorite. I love the tom yum soup, the salad with the ginger dressing and rice dishes.
Q: What do you look forward to once the weather warms up?
A: Bringing my kids over to the park.
Q: How old are your kids?
A: Twelve and 6 years old.
Q: Recent travel destination you loved?
A: The western Caribbean. It was the first time for me.
Q: Last book you read?
A: “The Philosophy and Opinions of Marcus Garvey.” I’d recommend it.
Q: Charity of choice?
A: Hephzibah Children’s Association.
Q: Hidden gem of Oak Park or River Forest?
A: The Brown Elephant. And the secondhand record stores.
Q: Are you a vinyl enthusiast?
A: Yes, jazz.
Q: Favorite artists?
A: Thelonious Monk and John Coltrane.
