Kyle Schwarber drove in the Cubs’ first four runs — three with a home run in the third and another with a single in the fourth — to help his team to a 7-3 victory over the White Sox on Friday at Camelback Ranch. Kris Bryant drove in two with a single in the fifth.

At the plate: Sox center fielder Peter Bourjos had two hits to raise his average to .387. Tommy La Stella and Jon Jay drew walks off Sox left-hander Derek Holland to set up Schawber’s three-run blast. La Stella also sparked a three-run fifth with a single off Holland.

On the mound: Michael Kopech allowed one hit and struck out five in two innings for the Sox. Holland allowed six runs, four hits and three walks and struck out two in four-plus innings. Cubs lefty Rob Zastryzny threw three scoreless innings.

The quote: “Hats off to ‘Schreiber;’ I think that’s how you say his name, right? Good pitch. He turned on it. He was probably looking for it.” — Holland on Schwarber’s home run.
