Let’s drain the swamp in Lake County first and then worry about Washington, D.C.

I got a big laugh the other day. I was looking for some Chicago Cubs clothing or Cub hats and every one I picked up was made in China. I guess they celebrate the World Series champion Cubs more in China than in the United States.

If Colin Kaepernick, former quarterback of the San Francisco 49ers, pulled that stunt of not standing for the national anthem while in North Korea while the North Korean national anthem was being played, what would have happened to him? He is very lucky to live in the United States of America. Thank you, veterans, and we can’t thank you enough.

To the lady who commented in Quickly who had a 4-year-old granddaughter: How stupid do you think people are that we would even believe that silly, silly story about what happened when you entered the store?

About the great division in this country now: There’s always been a division and always will be where racist people will cause problems, but it’s terrible that people even out shopping cannot look others in the face now. Everyone is not a racist. It’s just a sad situation. I know and I believe that it’s not going to get any better. We might as well try to get along.

Why do President Donald Trump’s kids need security clearance? We didn’t elect them president. It’s another conflict of interest involving the Trumps. He wants them to run his businesses and wants to give them security clearances. It sounds like the same thing he accused Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton of doing – pay for play. Trump’s kids are involved with a lot of foreign governments and he’s letting them run his businesses. I don’t think this man understands what being president is. Neither do his kids. They seem to think that they’re all going to run the government together. We didn’t elect his kids.

More about Lake Station checking garbage cans and recycling bins: There’s time-sensitive stuff people put in the mail like their credit card papers and stuff. You’re going to trust that city employees are honest people? Look at former Lake Station Mayor Keith Soderquist who is now in prison and his wife, Deborah, who were sentenced to jail for using money from his campaign fund and the food pantry on dozens of gambling trips to Michigan.

You people who supported President Donald Trump are in for a big awakening. … Donald Trump is not the be all to end all that you think he is. Just wait.

There was a good article in the Post-Tribune about 160 people at a General Motors plant in Kokomo losing their jobs because production on semiconductors there will be stopped by mid-2017. The plant will still make other parts for GM and other automakers. Then I turned to the Post-Trib business section. It said they’re trying to stop China from buying these industries. It looks like maybe GM is getting ready to phase that out and turn it into a Chinese business. I thank God for President Donald Trump. I hope and pray he could do something to bring this country back. We need a rebirth in this country. America did it before. We could do it again. God bless America.

As a grandmother that’s hands-on 50 to 70 hours a week I really find it hard to believe that a grandma would not have known of her grandchildren’s deplorable conditions. That, to me, speaks that you just didn’t care or you’re lying about not knowing about it. I’m happy for those girls and hopefully the money that was raised on the GoFundMe account will go for great causes for them.
