“Spamilton” will continue to skewer “Hamilton” indefinitely in Chicago, it was announced Monday.

The parody of Lin-Manuel Miranda’s hit musical, created by “Forbidden Broadway’s” Gerard Alessandrini, will extend its Chicago production for an open-ended run at the Royal George Theatre, 1641 N. Halsted St.

“Spamilton” opened March 12 in Chicago. Tribune critic Chris Jones wrote, “The Chicago edition of ‘Spamilton’ has all of its comedic charms intact and is ideally timed to hit this sweet moment when all those heartland ‘Hamilton’ addicts are ready for another fix, ideally without dropping hundreds more Benjamins.”

The Chicago cast includes Donterrio Johnson, Adam LaSalle, Michelle Lauto, Eric Andrew Lewis, Yando Lopez and David Robbins.

The New York production of “Spamilton” has extended multiple times and is now in its ninth month at the Triad.
