Thanks to a crowd of 15,448 that watched the Cubs and Oakland Athletics, the Cubs broke their previous single-season spring training home attendance record of 226,163 set last spring.
The Cubs drew a major league spring training record 226,933 fans to Sloan Park, an average of 15,219. This spring’s mark didn’t include two games against World Baseball Classic entrants Italy and Japan, which increased their spring total to 251,899.
Sloan Park possesses the top 10 single-game Cactus League attendance marks, including a record crowd of 15,523 on March 20 against Kansas City.
