One person was seriously injured in a fire in the Lawndale neighborhood Friday afternoon, authorities said.
The adult victim was taken in serious-to-critical condition to Mount Sinai Hospital from a fire in the 1500 block of South Kenneth Avenue, according to a Chicago Fire Department spokesman.
The fire in the 1 1/2 story frame home was quickly extinguished after firefighters were called to the scene about 2:45 p.m.
The fire was not being investigated as suspicious, according to police.
