The Village of Pingree Grove has launched new speed sign beacons close to Cambridge Lakes Charter School, 900 Wester Boulevard.
“They are now on and scheduled to run twice a day from 7:30 to 8:15 a.m. and 3:30 to 4:15 p.m.,” said Larry Cornett, Cambridge Lakes Charter School vice president. “The radar will register speeds up to 26 miles per hour before flashing the strobe (during the times that the speed sign beacons are flashing). However, during the off times, the radar will not post a speed but the strobes will flash if someone is going over 35 mph.”
The streets surrounding the school are all posted at 25 mph and reduced to 20 mph in the school zone.
