Anybody else struck by the hypocrisy of Congress lecturing the airlines about customer service?

Mind you, public outrage over United and American Airlines’ recent treatment of its passengers as well as other airline policies is legitimate and well-placed.

But for such anger to come from members of Congress who’ve chosen partisanship over compromise and vitriol over thoughtful debate, seems insincere and self-serving. Though only in its infancy, this Congress has already aggravated climate change, fumbled health care reform, and bailed on executive oversight. Who are they to lecture anyone about serving the public?!

Rep. Bill Shuster of Pennsylvania warned, “If we don’t see meaningful results that improve customer service, the next time this committee meets … I can assure you, you won’t like the outcome.” The voters, addressing Congress, could not have said it any better!
