A West Side man is accused of a South Loop carjacking last month, police said.
Phillip Smith, 25, of the 3900 block of West Flournoy Street in the city’s Lawndale neighborhood, was charged with aggravated vehicular hijacking with a firearm and armed robbery, police said.
Smith was identified as the person who, wielding a gun, approached the victim in the 600 block of South Wabash Avenue and demanded the victim’s vehicle and wallet at about 3:30 a.m. on April 11, police said.
Court information was not immediately available for Smith, who appeared in court Friday.
