The bombing in Manchester with its 22 dead is indeed a tragedy. While this action may force us to reconsider how we secure our public venues, we should not overlook the terror on our streets of Chicago.

Last year alone there were 4,368 shooting victims and 766 homicides in our city. It would seem that carnage of this magnitude should be received with the same level of alarm and call for action.
