It’s unfortunate that since the 1960s, the younger generation, of which I was a part at one time, put so much import on the actions and utterances of “pop culture” types. To adopt their points of view because they are of similar age, or perhaps they touch you in some ethereal way, is no way to develop “clear headed” thought processes. Those pop icons may be simultaneously entertaining and stupid.

Bob from Oak Forest said Democrats are paranoid conspiracy theorists. Really? Republicans believed former President Barack Obama was a “secret Muslim” who wasn’t born in America. Republicans believe in conspiracies like “voter fraud,” “Pizzagate” and “welfare queens,” to name a few. Their favorite conspiracy theory is the “liberal media bias.” Despite factual reporting of serious failures in President Donald Trump’s administration, Republicans staunchly believe he’s doing a great job, and the “liberal media bias” isn’t covering it. America can’t be great by using lies or blind loyalty. Whenever patriotism requires that we confuse fact and fiction, America loses.

To the obvious Sox fan who cannot stand the Cubs are World Series champs — by the way, how are the White Sox doing since 2005?

This is another “beaut” welfare idea by the kooky liberals. Now, they’re proposing some kind of “universal pay system.” In essence, those who even have jobs after robots take over are expected to help [pay] those who either don’t, are uneducated or are just too lazy. It seems the liberal Democrats really “dig” their idea. They just don’t know when to stop “digging.”
