Used book sale: The annual AAUW Naperville area book sale will be held Wednesday through Saturday at Washington Junior High School, 201 N. Washington St.
The four-day event begins with a sneak peak event from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. Entry costs $10.
Otherwise, there is no charge to attend from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday and 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday. Items will be half-price or will have special closeout pricing at Saturday’s sale.
More than 30,000 hard and soft cover books, DVDs, CDs and more, many of which are priced at $1 or $2, will be on sale. All proceeds benefit AAUW scholarships, fellowships and other programs supporting women and girls.

Mark Twain lecture: Warren Brown, a Mark Twain scholar, will present a first-person portrayal of Mark Twain at 1 p.m. Thursday at the 95th Street Library, 3015 Cedar Glade Drive.

Ribbon cutting: The Naperville Park District will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at its Central Maintenance Facility, 427 Martin Ave.
Refreshments will be served, and residents can take a tour of the new facility, which will help park district staff take care of hundreds of acres of ball fields, open space, trails and parks more efficiently.
The facility also includes a public lobby and vestibule with restrooms and an outdoor picnic patio. It was built on the site of building known as the The Barn.
