In her 6/29 column, Washington Post journalist Kathleen Parker plays the blame game. Her headline is “What’s ailing health care.” She, like the Democrats and Republicans are all talk / no action with a compromised health plan that would benefit/cover the largest portion of its citizens I don’t believe that any plan would be able to appease everyone. So, why not shoot for the best, reasonable one that would assure that the wealthy, middle-class and poor have the best coverage possible?

How is it that Illinois can not pay large lottery winnings even without a budget? Isn’t the money wagered going into its own fund to cover the payouts, or is that yet another example of “creative accounting,” which has gotten Illinois into the piles of debt under which it is buried?

Does Austin Berg have any pets that get scared out of their minds when fireworks are exploding? If fireworks were only booming just on July 4th instead of a month before and after then legalizing fireworks in Illinois makes some sense. The way to increase revenue is by enforcing the law and collecting the fines. I would hazard a guess that that total would far exceed any tax dollars collected.

Trumpcare is a tax cut for billionaires? William, was the health care bill leaked to you from a reliable source or are you just repeating fake news from CNN? Why do you have such disdain for billionaires? Obamacare negatively affected nearly everybody in the country. It was made to fail, the real outcome was to put everyone into a single payer system when it collapsed on itself. Kinda like the V.A., only a billion times worse. So, if a few billionaires get a tax break, what doe’s it really matter? I think Congress should repeal the ACA and just let the free market take the reins. Then competition in the market will bring the prices to a level that everyone could afford.
