A recent writer wrote, “I understand how and why the liberal left hate President Donald Trump.” This comment contains no substance just propaganda. It makes accusations such as “Obama did everything he could to diminish the U.S.” and “he put terrorist countries over America.” The writer can never offer specifics to back up such extreme statements because they are simply not true. What’s amazing to me, is that many of the people repeating this “liberals want to make the US a socialist state” GOP talking point, are the same people benefiting from social programs, such as social security and Medicare.
It is no surprise that the Crook County Democrats found a party hack, in this case Judge Daniel Kubasiak, to stick us with this unfair and illegal beverage tax. Next, they will have to come after breads, cakes, and candies as they are also full of sugar and unhealthy to all of us citizens not smart enough to look after our own health concerns. We’ll be doing all our shopping in the surrounding counties from now on . . .

I just heard the judge gave the OK for the soda tax to move forward. Also moving forward are my grocery dollars, right out of Cook County.

So, now we have a soda tax. What’s next? How about a paper products tax? (Paper towels, napkins, toilet tissue, etc.) This would encourage people to use less paper and therefore conserve trees. We already have special taxes on alcohol and cigarettes. Why stop there? Will the last person out of Illinois please turn out the lights?
