In a recent interview, Mike Ditka expressed the view that there has been no racial oppression in the U.S. in the last 100 years. At least he hasn’t seen any. He is either blind or a fool. For someone in his position to say something like this is beyond belief.
An Onion headline asks “How could Harvey Weinstein get away with this? Asks a man currently ignoring sexual misconduct of 17 separate co-workers, friends, and acquaintances.”
It’s really sad that as the president uses every prank to further divide the nation, he then utilizes the same issue to fundraise. Using Mike Pence as a puppet is Trump’s latest fundraising ad.
Having a gun in the home increase the risk of intimate partner homicide by at least 500 percent. In households with a history of domestic violence, the risk increases 2,000 percent, according to the National Coalition against Domestic Violence.
When is the P-T going to start sending reporters to ask INDOT what the deal is with 80/94? It’s been since March and they’re nowhere near done with … whatever it is they’re up to. This constant roadwork is affecting everyone’s life in Lake and Porter county.
Gun manufacturer Bushmaster tries very hard to influence gun ownership. They say that owning a gun “makes me a man.” They also ran a now infamous “man card” advertising campaign which quizzed men on their “manliness.”
It’s not enough to point out a big producer as an abuser. The bigger challenge is changing the climate, calling out everyday harassment and sexism. Ignorance is easy, ignoring gossip, or ignoring a troll yelling at a woman on Twitter is commonplace. Do something!
Does Trump even care when he knows he is not telling the truth?
How come we never read more about this local cat with an IQ of more than 156 owned by one Quickly commenter. Perhaps this is just another liberal blowing smoke?
The real question is, why don’t men stand up for women, and instead defend their peers?
The Las Vegas shootings have given Alex Jones and his Infowars another conspiracy theory to salivate over. How disturbed does a person have to be, to try to find things that aren’t there in a disaster? How disturbed are those that believe in his crazy theories?
The activists protesting the illegal alien deportations at the Gary Airport acted as if the deportees were being sent to death camps to be killed like Jews during the WWII Holocaust or something. They even quoted the “First they Came…” poem by German Pastor Martin Niemoller about inaction to stop the Nazis purging groups. The protesters were illogical, wrong and inaccurate. Our immigration laws (on the books for a long time) were simply being enforced. They were here illegally and were only being returned to their countries of origin.
There is always room for improvement for everyone. But don’t constantly bash the media for their effort to report the facts. Just because some people refuse to accept the facts is no reason to blame the media.
There are age limits preventing minors from voting. There should also be upper-age limits to prevent the sluggish mindset that has permeated our elected offices. It has become very apparent that these old-timers can not make rational choices and need to retire. Move over and let the younger generation take over and make a difference.
Mike Ditka, the expert witness of absolutely nothing, is mouthing off about the non-existence of oppression. Multi-millionaire white man, speaks for everyone.
