Police in Oak Park are searching for a woman who placed a pedestrian in a “bear hug” during a Friday night robbery.

According to a police summary, the woman approached someone from behind and placed the pedestrian in a “bear hug” while saying “just give it to me” at 6:08 p.m. in the 100 block of Madison Street.

The attacker then stole cash and two Illinois Lottery scratch-off tickets from the pedestrian, and fled east in the north Madison Street alley from Humphrey Avenue, police said. The total estimated loss is $120, police said.

According to police, the attacker is described as a black woman, between 30 and 40 years old, standing between 5-foot-2 and 5-foot-3 with a large build. Police said she was wearing a black and red jacket.
