
Mike Fletcher has been somewhat of a fixture around Clarendon Hills, having worked for the past 23 years as the Clarendon Hills Park District’s superintendent of parks.
Q: Where did you grow up, and where do you live now?
A: I grew up in Astoria, Oregon and live in Villa Park.
Q: Are you married, and do you have any children?
A: I’ve been married to Julene for 38 years, and we have three children, Allison, 32, Dean, 28, and Curt, 26.
Q: Do you have any hobbies?
A: Hunting and fishing.
Q: What’s the biggest fish you ever caught?
A: A barracuda, about 6-feet long and 60 to 80 pounds. I caught it several years ago in the Florida keys.
Q: What do you like best about Clarendon Hills?
A: The sense of community.
Q: When you were little boy, what did you want to be when you grew up?
A: A missionary. I wanted to be a bush pilot, but I found out I get air sick easily.
Q: What’s your favorite style of music?
A: Contemporary Christian
Q: Who should play you in a movie about your life?
A: Gregory Hines
Q: What is your favorite food?
A: Pizza, deep dish. The sausage patty at Gino’s East is my favorite.
Q: Do you like anything else on your pizza?
A: Just about anything other than shrimp and anchovies
Q: What is your favorite beverage?
A: Lately, it’s been ginger beer.
Q: What’s your favorite ice cream flavor?
A: Chocolate with marshmallows
Q: Do you have a favorite candy bar?
A: 3 Musketeers
Q: What’s your biggest pet peeve?
A: People who think they can’t make a right turn on red when there’s a red light camera
Q: Who is your favorite super hero?
A: Superman
Q: What super power would you most like to have?
A: Flying
Q: What’s number one on your bucket list?
A: I’d like to visit Alaska. I’ve been to every other state, other than North Dakota.
Q: Where is your favorite place you have visited?
A: Hawaii

A: The Bears
