We have a train accident. Immediately Trump speaks before he knows and says infrastructure is to blame. Of course he is wrong as usual; it was speed.
It seems only in the United States is a 38-year-old building like the Star Plaza considered “wrecking-ball-ready.” Nothing says poor decision more than razing a place that continues to draw crowds and brings people and their money to Lake County.
Trump speaks of the Amtrak derailment and says we need infrastructure bill. However, his budget cuts infrastructure by 13 percent.
Something most people might not realize about the new tax plan; the standard deduction is doubling, but they are taking away filing status exemptions and maybe the over 65 and blind exemptions. One good thing is this plan might force a lot of tax cheats to take the standard deduction.
To me, the most alarming thing about Trump’s so-called “America first” platform is that “America first” was the slogan of the isolationist movement that kept America from entering WWII until we were bombed. Those same “America first” isolationist were mostly Nazi sympathizers. That’s not even a dog whistle to white supremacists, it’s an air horn.
I sure hope the White House has a use for all the coal Trump gets for for Christmas.
See, the white male in America has been so maligned and discriminated against for 30-to-40 yrs, now everything we do is suspect and scrutinized. We Are Not Evil! Give us a break! Every woman, (or man) that wants to make a million gets a lawyer and goes to court. Wake up, you morons! It’s all about money!
Once the stink gets washed away from the witch hunt they call the Mueller investigation, and the President moves on to make America great again, then maybe we can start locking up those silly little minds that like to badmouth a standing president. That’s my New Year’s wish.
It’s not just that the GOP rush-order tax bill favors corporations and the wealthy, though that’s bad enough, but it also contains provisions that will benefit many of the congressional Republicans who are voting to approve it. So it’s not just Donald Trump who suffers from that disease called “Conflict Of Interestitis.”
We rely on taxes to support all kinds of services and rely on the IRS to insure that they are paid and collected. Since 2010, however, congressional Republicans have intimidated and harassed the IRS to the tune of nearly a billion dollars in budget cuts and a one quarter reduction in staff. And you wonder why we have deficits.
You don’t have to worry about Bob Corker; he is not up for re-election. His back room deal was still self-serving. He stood to gain in his personal life from holding out until he got what he wanted.
So we believe that the Cubans caused our diplomats brain damage, but we don’t believe cell phone use is bad for our brains.
I used to think that George W. Bush was the worst Republican President in my lifetime. I stand corrected.
