Good job Elgin! This is about Elgin and their leaf removal. They did an excellent job this year of taking care of the leaves. The streets were all clean. It was handled very well. I have to congratulate them. It is a great program, they have to keep it up. Thank you Elgin for doing a good job and taking care of the leaves.

Take action: This is about the city of Elgin. The mayor touts bond rates and lower crimes. That is a good thing, I am glad. And Terry Gavin says he is focusing on better quality of home care for people taking care of their property and things like that. How about that gas station on Dundee Avenue and Slade that looks like a bomb hit it? It is not only a blight, it is a dangerous situation. Why don’t we make that a priority? I agree with Terry that we need better code enforcement. I live near there and it would not be good if a kid fell in there.

Sexual harassment strategy backfires: It is really ironic. The recent sexual abuse witch hunts began as a way to end Trump’s career. It seems to have backfired by catching Democrats politicians and their affiliated TV news associates. Even Garrison Keillor is anti-Trump. When Democrats moralize, they walk on thin ice.

A few thoughts: I would like to say it keeps getting worse every day with our president. He’s all over the place. I mean look at these retweets. He is not only dividing our country, he is dividing us from our allies. He is an idiot. Another thing, all these men in power. There needs to be a power check. Stop paying all these men millions and millions of dollars and giving them all this power. Along with this power, like they say in the movies, comes great responsibility. Well, the only responsibility coming with the power of these men is they want to treat women like a carpet. They can walk all over them. Now it is coming out and it is all men with money and power.

Reason of Elgin’s success: I wish the mayor of Elgin and the rest of the council would quit patting themselves on the back. The only reason Elgin is moving forward is because of the interstate system that goes right by there. That is what kept Elgin alive.

Kaepernick not citizen of year: GQ magazine voted Colin Rand Kaepernick citizen of the year? He won’t even stand for the National Anthem. This guy is citizen of the year? Give us a break. He ought to be in jail.

San Francisco verdict mind-boggling: Let me get this straight: You can be an illegal alien who’s been deported five times but keeps sneaking back into the country. You have seven felonies against you. But the city of San Francisco gives you sanctuary and you can kill somebody and get off scot-free? I just can’t figure this one out.

Tax reform bill benefits wealthy: Today, the Senate passed an income tax bill. In it, they kept the deduction for private plane expenses and eliminated the deduction for medical expenses. In spite of what Donald Trump says, a person would have to be obtuse to not see this is just a tax bill for the top 1 percent of the wealthy.
