Once again, many people are complaining that the electoral college is undemocratic because Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton got almost 3 million more votes than President Donald Trump nationwide. The electoral college was established as a compromise method to curb the power of the most populous state at the time, Virginia. A scant two generations later, Virginia was the capital of the Confederacy. Clinton carried California by 3.3 million votes, more than her total margin nationwide. The electoral college worked as it was intended once again. Need I say more?

The economy is better for the 1 percent since President Donald Trump has been in office. The tax changes are going to get a CEO of one company an $11 million dollar raise. Another company is going to give out $1,000 bonuses to their upper echelon employees while firing 600 lower level employees. I haven’t heard one word about raises, health insurance, pensions that these companies will now have the money to supply, instead it’s going to the top. I bet that CEO really needed that $11 million raise. . .

Flash to William, Oak Lawn — this is the 21st century. Our workplaces no longer needs be in the office to get business done. William gripes about the president’s record vacation time spent out of office. William, unless you’ve been vacationing on Mars, you have to acknowledge/agree that his beneficial successes for us already outnumber our previous president’s eight years. If they continue, in spite of all the liberals outlandish efforts to get rid of him, many of us hope he’ll be able to vacation 200 times a year.

It is sure nice to see Cook County collected over $500 million in early property taxes. All those people have property taxes over $10,000 per year and tried to beat the new tax laws. It just goes to show just how high the property taxes are in Cook County.
