A comment was made in regards to the high crime in Chicago along with our politicians now wanting to legalize marijuana. The majority of crime committed is because of the street selling of marijuana and other drugs. The drug dealers control street corners and districts and if you cross over you have to pay the price. It’s not the drug user coming at you driving 70 miles an hour. It’s the drug chaser going after his delivery person who didn’t come clean with payments or the user who failed to pay after delivery. Therefore, to legalize marijuana would help bring the crime down and also help to clean out the court systems.

The flu epidemic is running rampant and it’s wonderful that the schools are cleaning like crazy, but are these kids’ backpacks and coats ever cleaned? Are these parents cleaning that stuff so that when their kids are carrying these items back into schools that these items, too, have been cleaned, or are we just carrying the same germs right back in because the parents and the kids are not being cleared of these germs also? Hopefully, this will get them moving.
Ted Slowik’s 2/2 column confirms what we voters should already know after decades of Cook County Democratic rule. When one of their boys retires, their replacement is always appointed, not elected by us voters. The appointees are always chosen by political party leaders. They say they’re picked because, they’re typically highly qualified, experienced and earned their positions through dedicated and loyal service. That really means they’re loyal to House Speaker Michael Madigan or Mayor Rahm Emanuel. . .

I do not fly. But about bringing animals aboard airplanes, I don’t know. I’d be more worried about the passengers than the animals.
