Death anniversaries can be so hard to deal with, even years after our loved ones have passed. I try to honor those loved ones who have gone before me by lighting a candle in their honor on each of those sad days. Somehow the flickering light makes me feel as if that person continues to live on, even if he or she only exists through memories I have of times spent with him or her. As I get older, I unfortunately have more and more candles to light throughout the year. Those death anniversaries are also a reminder of how important it is to let our loved ones know how much we care about them when they are still living.
