Regarding the story about adding liquor sales to Tinley Park’s music theater, we agree with Tinley Park Trustee Michael Pannitto that expanding liquor sales to the lawn area of the music theatre is a bad idea. His “gets crazy out there” comment is an accurate description of what already occurs there. Why add more craziness? Does Tinley want their brand to be music or liquor?

The Chicago White Sox are so bad and don’t play to win. . . I never thought I would say this but thank goodness for the Cubs.

Hats off to Lockport pitcher Rich Jesse Jr. Young man, with your work ethic and will to succeed, you are an inspiration to all of us.

For those of you who are fortunate enough to have a mother still living this Mother’s Day, my heart goes out to you. Just one day a year should not be the only day that is special for you to honor your mother. It doesn’t matter how costly your gift or maybe you don’t have anything to give. The only thing that should matter is having a mother that you can call or say in person, “Happy Mother’s Day.” Also, don’t forget that the most expensive gift that you can give are the words, “I love you.”
