Chicago police issued an alert Thursday warning of a group of robbers who have been targeting impaired victims in recent days in the Loop neighborhood.

Police said the robberies occurred in the months of April and May.

A group of three to four men surround the impaired victim and demand their property, either by force or threat, police said.

At least one of the victims was intoxicated, police said.

The group struck Wednesday about 2 a.m. in the first block of South Wabash Avenue, police said. The first incident happened April 27 around 11 p.m. in the first block of West Jackson Boulevard.

At least one of the robbers was described as black, about 30 years of age, about 5 feet 10 inches tall and 150 pounds. He has short black hair and a medium complexion, police said.

Anyone with information on the robberies should contact the Area Central detectives, 312-747-8384.
