More than 300 St. Mary Catholic Community School students and parents pedaled to school on Friday to mark “Ride Your Bike to School Day.” The group traveled from the Lake County Fairgrounds to St. Mary’s, where they were met at the school by many of their classmates who rode from other directions.
St. Mary’s 5th grader, Sofia Valdes said, “Riding to school with all my friends was amazing!”
Her classmate Sammie Noren added, “It was good exercise too!”
St. Mary’s principal Tom Ruiz credited Mike Wysocki from the city’s Emergency Management Association, Ed from Ed’s Bicycle Repair, and the folks at the Lake County Fairgrounds “for helping us make this year’s event the best one yet.”
