A woman was in critical condition after she jumped out of a taxi Thursday morning on Interstate 80 near mile marker 141 in Will County, officials said.
A New Lenox Fire Protection District vehicle transported the woman to a local hospital, district spokeswoman Marisa Schrieber said.
Police are investigating the incident to determine why she left the vehicle, Illinois State Police Trooper DeAnn Falat said.
