Ford invested $1 billion in its Chicago-area manufacturing operations to expand production of its all-new Ford Explorer, Lincoln Aviator and Police Interceptor SUVs. The retooling is complete and the Chicago Assembly Plant, Ford’s oldest in continuous operation, employs nearly 5,200 workers.
