A 34-year-old Chicago man and a 13-year-old Round Lake Beach girl died from injuries sustained when a car crashed into a building Saturday.
According to Round Lake Beach Police, at around 7:30 p.m. the two were traveling eastbound in a 25-mph speed zone on Long Lake Drive in a 2006 Pontiac G6, when the vehicle struck a condominium building at 1551 W. Crystal Rock Court.
The man and the girl were transported by the Round Lake Area Fire Protection District to Condell Hospital in Libertyville where they later died.
According to authorities, a witness reported seeing the car traveling at a high speed at the time of the crash.

Authorities were withholding the identities of the victims pending notification of family members. Autopsies were scheduled for Monday.
As a result of the crash, two residential units at the condominium building were damaged. Residents of the units were not home at the time, authorites said
The Rond Lake Beach Police Department is investigating the crash with assistance from the Lake County Major Crash Assistance Team and the Lake County Coroner’s Office.
