The Niles-Maine Library District Board of Trustees is one member short following the resignation of its president.

Tim Spadoni, whose first term on the board ends next spring, announced his resignation on Aug. 19 in a letter to Vice President Karen Dimond.

In the letter, which was shared by the library, Spadoni stated he has sold his home and he is moving out of the library district. He has served on the board since 2015 and is in final year of a six-year term, according to the library.

“I have enjoyed my time on the library board and hope that I have made a positive impact on its proceedings,” Spadoni wrote.

The six members of the board are expected to announce the process for appointing a resident to fill the vacancy during a meeting scheduled for Sept. 16.
